How the Configurator Works
Five steps take you from a blank cylinder to a complete, ready-to-order specification.
Choose a Series
Start with HH Series heavy-duty hydraulic, or another Sheffer platform sized to your application.
Set Bore & Stroke
Pick from standard bores 1⅛”–14″ and enter your stroke length; the tool flags any length that needs a stop-tube.
Pick a Mount Style
Select from NFPA-standard mounts — flange, lug, trunnion, clevis — filtered to what your bore and pressure support.
Configure the Details
Rod end style, rod diameter, seal material, cushioning, and port size and location.
Get Your Part Number
Review the generated spec, download a dimensional drawing, and request a quote — all from one screen.

A Note on Ratings: Bore pressure ratings describe the cylinder as a pressure vessel — they don’t guarantee every mounting style will withstand the resulting thrust. FF, RF, and FB mounts are restricted to 1,000 PSI regardless of bore rating. The configurator applies these limits automatically so you can’t accidentally spec an unsafe combination.

Don’t See Your Series? Not every Sheffer product line is available in the online configurator yet. If you need a tandem, telescoping, or custom-bore cylinder, contact an application engineer directly — those builds still get the same engineering rigor, just with a human in the loop.
