In 1952, Harvey Sheffer founded Sheffer Engineering with an eye on innovation and
a goal of becoming a world-leading supplier and manufacturer of cylinders and actuators.
He set out to give customers exactly what they wanted – and more importantly, what
they needed – in an industry where mass-produced, generic solutions were the norm.
Today, the Sheffer name is still synonymous with pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders
of the highest quality, respected worldwide for dependable performance, guaranteed
reliability and personal service.
Throughout our history, we’ve been leaders in developing and implementing breakthrough
product innovations – the first to install continuous feedback devices on position
control cylinders for such prestigious customers as NASA. Then and now, we have
demanded nothing less than a constant commitment to anticipate, meet and exceed
customer expectations through innovation, accuracy and reliability from all facets
of our organization.
